Anthropogender’s vision is that more companies, investors, financial service providers, regulators and policy makers integrate gender considerations into their decision making to contribute to gender-equality, women’s empowerment and sustainable development.
We support clients to identify, manage and measure their gender impacts. We do this through advocacy and advisory services with diverse stakeholders.
Anthropogender combines the words anthropogenic and gender. Gender norms originated in human activity and behaviour, which can change to achieve gender equality, women’s empowerment and sustainable development.
We draw on anthropological participatory methods to design and conduct research, develop strategies and support programme implementation.
We recognise the heterogeneity of people and the intersectionality of characteristics that contribute to social inequalities.
We value sex-disaggregated, gender and other social impact data to measure and track performance and inform strategy.
We acknowledge the critical role of social norms in influencing behaviour, and shifts in these norms are vital to achieve gender equality and sustainable development.
