Policy guidance for donors on gender-responsive green growth strategies in private sector programming

This project involved research and stakeholder consultation with development projects to develop a series of Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) guidance sheets and case studies on Gender Responsive Green Growth.

This included an introductory note and thematic notes on: Gender-Responsive Approaches to Green Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programmes; DCED Gender-Responsive Green Jobs and Skills Development; Gender-Responsive Green Finance; and Gender-Responsive Green Value Chains.

This work was informed by earlier research we conducted for the DCED presented in an extensive technical paper on gender and business environment reform (BER) and a series of DECD policy papers and donor guidance on the overall theme, as well as case studies on BER and informality, and BER and financial inclusion to inform future donor programmes.

“Unlocking inclusive green growth requires the recognition that macro-economic policies and national green growth strategies affect women and men differently.”
