Gender & Climate Change

Gender differences in climate change and disaster risks, vulnerabilities and impacts are recognised internationally by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

There is strong evidence that approaches to mitigate, adapt to climate change need to account for these gender differences.

In doing so, there is the opportunity to not only address gender-specific and differential risks and vulnerabilities but also promote gender equality.

We provide expertise around this broad thematic area including specifically on gender-responsive climate finance and insurance, gender and climate risk analytics, and gender-responsive national green growth strategies.
